Ready Mix Concrete

Ready Mix Concrete & Concrete Supply

We supply fresh concrete mixed on site using volumetric mixers — the modern alternative to traditional drum-delivered ready-mix. Here's what that means for your project, and why it usually works in your favour.

The difference

Volumetric concrete vs traditional ready-mix

Traditional ready-mix concrete is batched at a fixed concrete plant, loaded into a rotating drum wagon, and driven to site. The concrete is already mixed and the clock is ticking — the longer the journey, the less working time you have on site, and the mix can't be changed once it leaves the plant.

Volumetric concrete is different. The raw materials are carried separately on the wagon and mixed on site, fresh, at the point of pour. You get exactly the quantity you need, the mix can be adjusted if conditions change, and there's no risk of the concrete starting to set in the back of a lorry on a long drive across the Valleys.

We don't pretend volumetric is identical to traditional ready-mix — it's a different delivery method with its own advantages. For most domestic and small-to-medium commercial pours across South Wales, volumetric mixing gives you fresher concrete, less waste, and a more flexible delivery. For very large continuous pours, a traditional ready-mix plant may still be the right call — we'll tell you honestly if that's the case.

Why volumetric

Why we supply volumetric rather than drum ready-mix

  • Fresh concrete at the point of pour — no journey time eating into your working window
  • Exact quantities — order 3.2m³ and that's what you get, not 4m³ with a part-load charge
  • Adjustable mix on site — change the slump or additives if the ground or weather shifts
  • One wagon for up to ~8m³ — no coordinating multiple drum deliveries
  • No return-load charges for concrete you didn't need

Which do you need?

Which is right for your project?

For driveways, foundations, slabs, domestic projects and most commercial pours up to around 8m³, volumetric is usually the better choice. For very large continuous pours — a full house slab or a big commercial floor — talk to us and we'll advise on the best approach.
