A guide to the concrete mixes we supply and the applications they're normally associated with. We'll only publish a specific mix once its details are confirmed — so what you see here is genuine, not guessed.
Applications
Different jobs need different concrete. A house driveway and a strip foundation aren't poured to the same specification. Below is general guidance on the type of mix normally associated with common projects — but the mix for your specific job should always be confirmed against your design or specification.
Normally a medium-strength general-purpose mix, often with fibres for crack control. See concrete for driveways.
Normally a designated mix appropriate to the load and ground conditions, specified by your engineer or building control. See concrete for foundations.
Normally a mix suited to the floor finish and load, sometimes with fibres or a pumped specification. See concrete slabs.
Higher-strength or designated mixes depending on the structure. See commercial concrete and agricultural concrete.
Important
The information on this page is general guidance only. We do not make structural recommendations without an appropriate specification. If your project has a design — from an engineer, building control or a specifier — we'll batch to that. If it doesn't, talk to us and we'll point you in the right direction.
Tell us what you're pouring and we'll help you work out the right specification.
