Concrete Slabs

Concrete Slabs

Garage bases, workshop floors, extension slabs, agricultural yards and commercial hardstanding — we supply the right concrete, at the right thickness, with proper sub-base and jointing so the slab performs for years.

What we pour

Slabs we supply concrete for

Garage bases

Single and double garage bases at 100–150mm on compacted sub-base, with perimeter thickenings and reinforcement as required.

Workshops and outbuildings

Concrete slabs for workshops, sheds, garden rooms and agricultural outbuildings — sized to the loading and use.

Extension slabs

Ground-bearing slabs for domestic extensions, poured to your builder's specification.

Agricultural slabs

Yards, livestock areas and farm building slabs — see our agricultural concrete page.

Commercial slabs

Warehouse and unit floors, hardstanding and loading areas — see our commercial concrete page.

Getting it right

What a good concrete slab needs

  • A compacted sub-base — MOT Type 1, graded and compacted in layers
  • Correct slab thickness for the intended loading
  • Reinforcement — mesh or fibre, to control shrinkage cracking
  • Movement joints at calculated centres so the slab cracks where you decide
  • A level surface with the right fall for drainage or use
  • Proper curing so the concrete reaches its design strength

Quantity

How much concrete does a slab need?

Slab volume is area × depth. A 6m × 6m garage base at 150mm thick needs 5.4m³. Use our concrete calculator to estimate from your dimensions, then add a small wastage allowance. Because we mix volumetric concrete on site, we batch to the exact amount the area takes — no over-ordering.
